The TIGER HUNTER
Every summer my grandparents had a garden that turned into a jungle. I helped do a little weeding and harvesting, but mostly I was responsible for locating tigers. I would look anywhere the milkweed crept in among the sweet-peas, corn and chard. They like to pounce from those tall green stalks. I had a jar stuffed with leaves and when I found a striped black and yellow caterpillar, I had to be quick to catch it before it leaped.
