Bluebell the Mole
caught by the cat
left in the grass
time to get a shovel
put it to rest
lift a slice of earth
lay the dead mole in
those big hands that
dug through the ground
now held out open
in surrender
cover him over
with a blanket of moss
some bluebells
placed on top
with pictures in our yard
