Many moons ago, I was inspired by this old jazz
album cover for Wardell Gray. As I began to
assemble my next collection of poetry, I knew
I wanted to call it PLAYGROUND and I asked
my friend and amazing artist Michael Paulus
to see if he could come up with a cover
like this record. I think he succeeded
beautifully. Here’s a black and white
image of that morning he went out
looking for a playground in Portland.
