I was talking with a professor about some rare
Medieval manuscripts she’s been working with.
They were found inside the
binding of books.
Working in the Mendery, I often do spine
replacements on
books. It isn’t uncommon to
find publishers using whatever paper was handy
to
strengthen the spine text block. This is from
a 1934 British book, using what
looks like some
Biblical text, with Greek. Sometimes I see old
newspaper print.
We use good quality paper
these days.
