An Elephant On His Hands

Back when I was researching silent comedian
Billie Ritchie (see blog from Jan.15, 2010)
I ran across a microfilm ad for this movie:

"An Elephant On His Hands "
IN VAIN HE TRIED TO RID HIMSELF
OF THE ELEPHANT
Jane secures an elephant as one of her
numerous pets. Eddie, her husband,
disliking animals of all kinds, is forced
to care for it. It's a huge job. He can't
get rid of it--no one wants it. A farce
along new lines, immensely funny
like the beast it stars.

I'm guessing this silent film is
long lost. Anyway, I couldn't resist
bringing it back to life, fading in
and out of sight: Jane, Eddie,
and the Elephant.

What's New?

I've been typing up letters of Kenneth Patchen
for a forthcoming book.
Also wrote a book of haiku
