1927

Just watched Harry Langdon's1927
movie 'Long Pants.' I can't believe
people used to leave alligators in boxes
along the city streets.

Gigantic Elf

I've been lugging around this new biography
of one of my favorite film stars, HARRY LANGDON.
LITTLE ELF is filled with his amazing story, with
hundreds of pictures and it's a gigantic book,
even bigger than the Bellingham phonebook!
By the way, the new phonebook did arrive yesterday
--it was raining, a white van pulled up along the curb
and some highschool kid jumped out the sliding door
and ran up the driveway, while his mother waited.
It could be a scene from a Harry Langdon film!

J. Genius Suggests

Was talking with J.Genius during the break from work
about a scene in the novel I'm writing now.
He suggested these two Sherman Alexie
books; very good reads. I especially like "Salt."

GOOD DEED RAIN books

Here's the lineup of GOOD DEED RAIN books
so far. There are five more on the assembly line,
so 2016 will be bringing you more reading adventures.
Alas, I've had to adjust prices as the cost of printing
has gone up. I hope that won't stop you from
supporting Good Deed Rain. Thanks.

Sund chapbook

Making great progress on the tribute book
to Robert Sund. It's been amazing collecting
stories from people who knew him. This is
the cover of his 1981 chapbook, published
by Sam Hamill's Copper Canyon Press:
