I've been enjoying discovering the short stories of Clifford Simak. He's already inspired me to write 2 new stories this week and furthermore has complimented me in turn in this passage from his story "Jackpot":

maybe a mermaid

"I've been an amateur telepath all of my life." That's the start of a new story I'm writing now. It might even have a mermaid in it. Or not. We're standing by to see.
