at the Skagit Historical Museum in
La Conner for Good Deed Rain's new
book, In the Valley of Mystic Light
by Claire Swedberg. It's 6-8 PM.

robot novel sketch

This is Aaron's sketch for the little novel
I wrote this summer about the magician
and the robot. Stay tuned for more on
this book. It's going to be a winner!

robot vs. mummy

I turned over the manuscript of
the novel I wrote during this summer
to Aaron who will be doing illustrations.
The book features one of those clunky
robots we all love. Back when being a
robot meant something. And this morning
I gave The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy
a look. A commendable movie, but I had
to skip to 53 minutes in when the robot
finally stirs to life. Too bad he fell into
bad company and walked into that cemetery.

Book Event on October 27th!

My friend Aaron (illustrator of The Book
of Ticks) gave me this great old Scholastic
Book. These monster books were my
favorites back when I was in grade school.

movie time

I watched a movie I haven't seen in 29 years,
the amazing Stalker, by director Andrei Tarkovsky.
It's an inspiration for the new book I've been
writing, which is influenced by all those European
classic movies I grew up watching.
