foggy morning

A foggy morning at work
always reminds me of that
great Frank Sinatra song
"A Foggy Day in London Town..."

book of the week

I'm loving The John Lennon Letters
edited by Hunter Davies (2012).
I'm reading it on the bus, on break
and any chance I get during waking
hours.

new little poem book soon

I'm working on a new little poem book
using these photos Rustle and I took
in the woods near our house
where we often see deer

just read

I just finished reading Knute Skinner’s amazing memoir,
Help Me to a Getaway (Salmon Poetry, 2010). It’s
always heartening to see someone with the guts to
make it as an artist. Those parts with his Dutch girlfriend
urging him to get a real job were pretty insightful.
He stuck to his heart and put art first. VERY hard
to do…Now I’m reading his poetry book,
What Trudy Knows. It’s like a short story collection.
Best of all, it’s got me back in the poetry zone too
as I work on putting together a new big collection of
my own poetry.
